At Pioneer Montessori, creativity is woven into the fabric of our daily classroom experiences through hands-on activities and open-ended projects. In addition to these opportunities, our students also participate in dedicated weekly art and music classes that further nurture their self-expression and imagination.
Pioneer Montessori offers several different programs and opportunities for enrichment.

Art
In art class, students express their ideas and emotions through drawing, painting, coloring, and exciting themed projects. These experiences encourage creative thinking and personal expression. Both enrichment classes help build self-esteem and confidence as students proudly create their own work and exclaim, “I made it myself!” These programs beautifully complement the Montessori philosophy by supporting the whole child - mind, body, and spirit.

Music
In music class, students explore rhythm and melody through singing, movement, and playing a variety of instruments. It’s a joyful time where they develop coordination, listening skills, and a love for music.
Gross Motor Activities
Gross motor activities focus on developing the large muscles of the body including the arms, legs and torso. These activities include running, dancing, yoga, and physical exercise. For young children, gross motor activities are crucial to the development of the whole child. They build confidence and self esteem in children and give them an understanding of the importance of taking care of the body. These activities help to instill knowledge and awareness of overall well being, as well as decision making. They help young children in all areas of development including social, emotional, and physical. In the Pioneer Montessori classroom, we focus daily on gross motor activities as well as weekly yoga and meditation lessons.
