Qualifications
Having a degree in English or a relevant area.
Prior teaching or tutoring experience and in-depth knowledge of the SAT test, including the structure, content, and question types. Should be familiar with the SAT's reading and writing sections, scoring, and test-taking strategies.
Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills. Should be able to teach English concepts effectively and communicate clearly with students.
Familiarity with SAT test prep materials, such as official SAT study guides and other reputable resources.
Familiar with changes in the SAT test format, content, and scoring.

Qualifications
Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement pull-out sessions to support students who struggle with math and reading. Provide targeted instruction and interventions to help students improve their skills and overcome academic challenges.
2. Design and implement pull-out sessions to challenge students who excel in math and reading. Provide accelerated or challenging learning materials for sessions and assign weekly homework assignments.
4. Develop and deliver an Academic Support Elective for students in grades K, 1-2, and 3-4. Create a curriculum that addresses specific academic needs, enhances study skills, and promotes a positive learning environment.
5. Collaborate with homeroom teachers to gain insights into students' academic progress, strengths, and areas for improvement. Share information regarding students' participation in pull-out sessions and progress made. Provide suggestions and strategies to support students in the classroom.
6. Organize and lead one or more clubs that align with the school's goals and mission. Offer diverse and engaging extracurricular activities that promote students' academic, social, and emotional development.
7. Collaborate with the assessment team and assist in administering the NWEA MAP Testing and reading level assessments when requested. Help collect and analyze data to support instructional decision-making.
8. Provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, including students with learning disabilities, English language learners, and gifted students. Differentiate instruction to address students' unique strengths and challenges.
9. Work collaboratively with other teachers, specialists, and support staff to create a cohesive learning environment. Communicate effectively with parents, providing regular updates on students' progress, strategies for support, and recommendations for further enrichment.
10. Professional development: Engage in professional development activities to stay abreast of current research, best practices, and innovative instructional strategies in the field of academic support. Continuously seek opportunities for self-improvement and contribute to a culture of learning within the school community.
