Science Classes Welcome Guest Speaker on Ecology, Evolution and Conservation
Ms. Lainez's classes had a special guest speaker via Skype in order to provide real world application to their curriculum. Brian Brion is a senior and an Ecology, Evolution, & Conservation Biology major at the University of Washington. Not only is Brian an incredibly busy and diligent student in his final year of undergrad, but he also finds time to conduct research in the North West ocean region. Brian was pleased to discuss his college career and future aspirations in his field of study. He also presented the data that he has been collected regarding hypoxic areas in the Pacific ocean in Washington/ Oregon, which just so happened, according to Ms. Lainez, be, "right on point with our curriculum!"The students enjoyed this direct application to their subject matter and an opportunity to hear from and engage with someone in pursuit of the field.
