An Interdisciplinary Trip: The Museum of the American Indian

On Tuesday, October 25th Mr. Siddiqi and Mrs. Shannon's classes embarked on an interdisciplinary class trip after covering Native American History and Poetry in their units of study. 47 students were in attendance as they were guided in and out of exhibits featuring Native and Contemporary Art, Art of the Plains, preserved pottery, jewelry, clothing and more. After numerous class discussions and the study of the use of native poetry in the weeks prior, the trip presented a unique opportunity to bring both words and history to life.
