On October 12, 1492 Christoper Columbus landed on the Americas. This event is celebrated in the United States, Spain and Latin American countries. Pioneer Academy of Science will celebrate this very special event with a Columbus Day Essay contest. Essays must be submitted to Social Studies teachers, Mr. Tester and Mrs. Coban, by October 7th. The essay must be accompanied by a poster. Two winners will be selected, one from Middle School and one from High School. They will receive a Barnes and Noble gift certificate.
